We took a last minute 4 day holiday on Fox Talbot for a very good price.
The induction from Mark was very thorough, efficient and kind. The reception lady was really lovely and helpful too.
The boat was nice and as advertised.
As complete novices the 1st day of locks was pretty stressful but by the 2nd day we figured out two important things that made it much much more enjoyable.
1. Take your time. Slow things down. Especially on locks. There is no rush to get anywhere. Hurrying is the adversary of canal boating and the fun is in the relaxed pace of things.
2. Laugh and have fun. You are not going to get everything right so just laugh at yourself when things go wrong or you don’t know what you are doing. As long as you don’t end up in the drink just have a laugh and carry on.
We had such a great holiday. Things got a little frantic at times o the locks with 3 little boys and a new puppy on board but they all had THE BEST TIME!! The places you can visit along the Kenet and Avon canal were beautiful with lovely pubs like the Barge Inn to stop at along the way.
We will be back.

Such amazing costumer service. We stopped her when renting from ABC boat hire, our provider was terrible and unable to help us put with our issues with the canal boat and luckily foxhanger was willing to help. They sorted out of septic tank, provided a tour of their boats and was able to teach us a lot about boat handling and management. We have all agreed to rent from this provider next due to their amazing boat interior and service

What a great holiday.
6 of us went on the Tibetan Fox for a week.
Accomodation was more generous than we expected. Facilities were very good… hot water, a shower, kitchen facilities, seating areas and super comfy beds. There was a TV and dvd but we were too busy to use them.
There’s plenty of food shops enroute so no needs to take all your food.
The tutorial at the beginning was fun and informative and handover at the end was quick and easy with a friendly welcome from the Foxhanger Team.

We holidayed with fox hangers on the Kennet and Avon canal both for the first time this year, the boats are well equipped, and handed over with guidance and tuition, it’s easy to say there could be more, but I do understand that there are time constraints, and even experienced boaters could come across different obstacles they haven’t come across before, we would 100% recommend fox hangers and we will for sure be booking again once your 2024 bookings are open thank you

Campsite really lovely and peaceful. Ideally situated near the canal with stroll to Devizes Town centre along tow path. Friendly owners. Local pubs serve meals and beverages. Wadworth brewery nearby offers tours.
