Just spent the weekend on the highgrove 6 boat with some friends.
We had A little experance of Narrow boats between us.
Steve and his team gave us a very informative explantion of how to manage the boat and the canals water systems, while being friendly and helpful.
The trip was amazing, we all took turns driving the boat while enjoying the beautful sceenary.
An experance we will repeat.

We hired Jasmin for 5 days and this was our first time ever on a canal boat. Steve and the team were excellent in talking everything through with you and making sure you’re confident in cruising the boat etc. I cannot rate Grand Union Narrowboat Holidays enough and highly recommend using them for your canal boat experience. The Jasmin boat was a dream to cruise in and we had a fab time making some wonderful memories!

We just finished 11 days on ‘Sally’ and had a ball. Steve and his team were awesome, greeting us warmly on arrival and providing an excellent boat operation and safety briefing.
Due to recent lack of rain the canals were a little low and were scheduled to be closed around our return so Steve asked us to amend our plans slightly and do a one way hire up to Great Stafford which we were more than happy to do.
We had a ball on this trip travelling around 70 miles and passing through around 40 locks. At the conclusion of our trip Steve picked us up and returned us to Weedon. His service was outstanding.
During the trip we had a minor electrical issue and Steve was there very promptly to rectify it and have us back on our way; we couldn’t have asked for a better response.
This was our first narrow boat experience and it took us a couple of days to clutch in that you can travel all day in the boat but not really get far from where you were (at least if you were driving back and hence why Steve’s response time was so good). After that epiphany we became totally relaxed.
Everywhere we stopped (particularly at locks) the other boaters were friendly and helpful.
We cooked about 3 nights on the boat without any issues as the kitchenware was perfectly adequate and we visited a lot of great English pubs which are located close to the canals and well marked in the canal guide books.
A thoroughly enjoyable holiday that I commend to anyone considering a narrow boat trip.
Thank you Steve and team.

I had always wanted to try narrow boating, and from sitting at my computer in rural Australia, and right through the experience on the Grand Union Canal, Steve and the team were absolutely wonderful. All questions were answered clearly, our lovely little “Ragweed” was spotlessly clean and well maintained, guidance about how to use the boat and negotiate locks was clear and unrushed, and all the support we needed was available to us. The whole team was friendly and supportive and I would recommend them without hesitation. Next time we have the opportunity to visit the UK, booking another trip with Steve will be my first priority. Thanks to all the team for a truly wonderful time. Looking forward to seeing you again.
