Guide To Heritage Narrowboats

What a lovely holiday! Highly recommend this trip. It is both relaxing yet an adventure, a challenge, and an opportunity to relax. Great for a couple, or a group of friends. Don’t be worried if you don’t know how to drive, it is easier than it looks! 🙂

Would not recommend this place. Hired a boat for a day and was okay until the afternoon where black smoke plumed out the engine bay and then stalled. After a few attempts of trying start it we called the company who sent a guy out who confirmed a water tank had not been filled up which caused the engine to over heat. They’re refusing to return the deposit saying we broke it although they admitted the water tank was empty when should of been full. The engine showed signs of poor maintenance visually as it was covered in oil and electrical cables and pipe work insecure

Fantastic experience with heritage narrow boats. Hired for a week with absolutely no issues or hassle. Very friendly knowledgeable people. Simple quick and easy process to get onboard and away on our trip.

We have just returned from a wonderful week’s holiday, cruising slowly through the Cheshire countryside from Scholar Green to Marple and back again.

Everyone was so helpful.

Great boat (Astbury 70ft) and nice people on the gorgeous Macclesfield Canal. Overall a great holiday.
