Refusing entrance to us all because of rumours being spread by an old friend.
Phoned them and they clearly didn’t want to say anything 🙄 I will now be requesting a freedom of information request to determine if any foul play has happened.
Thanks

“If boating be the food of love, cruise on!”
However take time to stop, stay, and moor at Shakespeare Marina, Stratford-on-Avon. It’s such a picturesque setting, with a view of the Bard’s Church close by. You can be sure of a warm welcome from Ruth, the Marina Manager, who made us feel at home from the moment we stepped onto the pontoon.
It’s an ideal base for visiting Stratford, and if you are a theatre lover like me, take in a play or two. From a practical point of view Shakespeare Marina is ideally situated with a supermarket, pharmacy, vets and coffee shop all within a short walking distance, whilst in the opposite direction the excitement of the historic town awaits you.
Journeying from the Thames, where we have moored for six years, we were somewhat anxious about what awaited us, but the lure of the River Avon with its quintessential English towns and rolling hills has captivated us. Discovering Shakespeare Marina was like the jewel in the crown, all new, sparkling facilities and modern pontoons. It’s definitely a great place to moor for exploring the Midlands Waterways, or if you are a barge like us, the Avon, Severn, Gloucester & Sharpness Canal.
So Mr. Shakespeare, “All’s Well That Ends Well”; we are very happy in your namesake marina and definitely staying put.

We moved to Shakespeare Marina in April 2023. Since arriving we have loved being there. The basin has a wonderful pontoon system which is safe and secure. They are very focused on keeping access ways clean and clear. The facilities are top notch and always clean and well equipped. The staff are very friendly and alway willing to help. Stratford town centre easily accessible on foot as well as the Rosebird retail centre just a 10 minute walk. We have not had any issues with intruders or unwelcome visitors unlike some negative comments being left here by anonymous reviewers. It is so disappointing to see people so easily criticising an establishment without providing a face. Please ignore their wrath. This is a great marina.

A lovely friendly marina. I had to leave my boat for two weeks and it was just as I had left it on my return. I’ve felt safe sleeping on her as a solo boater
The manager Ruth is very helpful and friendly, she took time to answer my queries even though she is the only person running the marina.
I will definitely visit again.

In contrast to the previous review, we have found Shakespeare Marina to be a haven of tranquility.
The facilities are exemplary, beautifully clean and secured with keypads. All the usual services are provided in order to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The marina is secure, with all public facing gates secured with keypads. We have not noticed any trespassers. We feel extremely safe, to the extent that we have slept with our hatch open during the recent heatwave.
Ruth, the manager is extremely friendly and welcoming, and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
The marina is well situated for cruising the beautiful and scenic Avon River Navigation by boat. It is only a short walk to the centre of beautiful Stratford upon Avon.
We highly recommend this marina. In our experience it is without doubt, one of the best we have found.
