We we’re looking for something different to do for my wife’s 70th birthday. Came across Sileby Boat Hire and booked a day boat. We hired skipper Sam who looked after us so we’ll and let everybody have a go at steering and operate the locks. Although I was initially worried it wouldn’t be for all our tastes we had the best day of our lives. Thank you all involved in the booking and preparation of the lovely little boat. It was fun fun fun all the way. Thoroughly recommend.

Probably the nicest lock I’ve seen in and around Leicestershire, well looked after. Abit of drone footage aswell.

A lovely and safe place to moor your vessel.

Peaceful and scenic walk, with lots of other friendly folk walking dogs. About an hour’s walk through paths, canal paths leading eventually to 2 huge meadow fields as well as a nature reserve walk into sileby. Does have the A6 running around it, so care should be taken when letting dogs off leads.
