Guide To Debbie’s Day Boats Ltd

Three friends and I hired Nessie for the day! Weather wasn’t the best but we kitted ourselves in waterproofs and had a blast anyway. Nessie didn’t disappoint – our beautiful, calming route was planned for us and she behaved beautifully for us! The pre-cruise briefing was brilliant – what Nessie’s lovely owner Lorna, doesn’t know about narrow boating just isn’t worth knowing. I know we will definitely be back ❤️

I booked a day trip on Nessie for my husband’s 40th birthday with our friends and we had an absolutely fantastic day!

Lorna was great from start to finish, so helpful and great tuition to get us all started.

It was such a memorable day none of us will forget. We can’t wait to book again.

We absolutely loved this.

We wanted something different for our daughters special birthday.

So I made email enquiries to Lorna,she was helpful and really informative answering all of my questions.

The barge was fantastic.

You pay for the whole day and once you receive the very good health and safety instructions and teaching you how to use the barge you are then on your own.

Its a lovely journey up the canal

The views were lovely and we saw lots of different wild life on our journey including a lovely Heron

Its so peaceful and leisurely all the other barge / boat owners are also friendly

We took a picnic with us but there is two pubs on the way.

There is some seating out side and also enough seating in the barge so you are sheltered if it rains or if its a bit chilly.

There is a toilet on board and a little kitchen with useful utensils and a kettle.

We took a supply of tea,coffee and sugar too.

A couple of our group did the steering and kept us safe on the journey

It was easy enough to do as it was our first time.

I can’t praise Lorna who owns Debbie’s Day Boats.

A small family run company who we found to be so helpful and informative.

We had the best day ever and 100% recommend this fun day out and booking through this company.

We will definitely be doing this again.

Had an amazing day today on Debbie’s Day Boats. Safety n training induction was very informative. Lorna was so welcoming and certainly knows her stuff when it comes to boats. Everyone was friendly on the water ways. Some lovely scenery. Cannot recommend enough. I will be booking up again for next year.

Booked for my husbands birthday with friends. Having never been on a canal boat before we were very impressed with the in depth briefing and first short run to get our ‘captain’ and ‘rope man’ up to speed. The boat is perfect for day hire with everything you need. No locks made for a relaxing day along some beautiful stretches of canal. A perfect lunch stop with two pubs to choose from on the way back. Highly recommend using this company…a great day.
