Guide To Ty Croeso Hotel & Restaurant
Perched high on a wooded hillside in The Dardy near Crickhowell, Ty Croeso - Welsh for "House of Welcome" - is a remarkable example of historical repurposing and Welsh hospitality. This magnificent Welsh stone building, which dates back to the 1830s, initially served as a hospital for the local workhouse.Strategically located just half a mile from the charming, award-winning town of Crickhowell, the property offers breathtaking panoramic views over the River Usk and the Black Mountains, while being conveniently above the picturesque Monmouth & Brecon Canal. The interior showcases tasteful renovations that honour its historic roots while providing modern comforts. It features two spacious lounges—one designed for relaxation and dining, and the other equipped as a games room with a large TV—alongside beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms ranging from luxurious loft suites to cosy single accommodations.
For visitors exploring the magnificent Brecon Beacons National Park, Ty Croeso serves as an ideal base. It offers proximity to notable attractions, including Llanthony Priory, Big Pit, and Raglan Castle, all while providing a tranquil retreat where guests can, as described on their website, “unwind and recharge in nature’s serenity.”

This is such a fabulous place – it was perfect for our family get together. A beautiful setting, and just a mile from gorgeous Crickhowell, with plenty of other great activities and places of interest just a short car ride away.
The hot tub, table football, pool table etc were all great for keeping the kids entertained, and the children and adults alike loved the ‘top of the garden’ barbecue area – just perfect for star gazing when the sun went down.
Beautiful bedrooms, acres of space inside, and a restaurant standard kitchen all made for a great holiday. But the icing on the cake was surely the fabulous service from Alex & Cory. Nothing was too much trouble, great communication from start to finish, and a genuine feeling that they are just as invested in your holiday being fabulous as you are.
Would absolutely recommend this lovely Welsh gem….

I highly recommend this property. Gorgeous views of the Brecon Beacons, great walks along the canal and to Crickhowell from the doorstep. Kitchen was great for large group cooking, rooms were beautifully decorated, and lovely en suite bedrooms.
Hot tub was a definite bonus too.
We thoroughly enjoyed our family weekend and hope to return in the near future

Had a great stay here in the beautiful loft room last week, Alex was a fantastic host and helped us make the most of our trip.
The house is very comfortable, has great views down the valley and is a 15 minute walk from Crickhowell making it easy to go to the pub for dinner and get home again. Highly recommended.

Alex was so lovely during our stay, gorgeous room (we were in the loft) and lots of thoughtful touches like milk left for our tea and robes. The valley is beautiful and Crickhowell has lots of nice pubs with good food too.
