The chapel was built into the thickness of the wall with the chancel in one of the buttresses. Because the single-aisled hall is built against the perimeter wall, it is curved rather than straight. When the fireplace was built in the keep, the flue rose within the wall to the fighting platform at the top and was finished with a chimney. This keep is the best preserved of its kind in the country.

We were very happy to visit this Keep today. My son really likes places like this, so we already bought an annual pass. Staff were very friendly and patient, just like before. They explained everything clearly. We had a great time here. Even though it was windy and cloudy today, the views were still very beautiful.

Had a great visit to Conisbrough Castle, All the better as it was a beautiful sunny day. Adult entrance was £9.50. There’s no car park but there was available parking on the surrounding streets. The Castle is in a wonderful setting over looking the town of Conisbrough from the top of the castle you are treated to some lovely views, so make sure you climb all the steps to the top. The whole site has been well maintained by English Heritage and is fully accessible. Staff were really friendly and sociable. There is a gift shop and cafe on site and also toilets . Would recommend at least an hour or two to visit the Castle. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend Conisbrough Castle to be a well worth visit. Many thanks to all the staff that made us feel so welcome.
