Probably great if everything goes smoothly and you get to go ahead with your boat trip. But be warned that if any extenuating circumstances take place after paying your full deposit you will probably lose all your money. I booked a private boat for my hen party in spring last year.

Unfortunately I came down with covid a few days before the scheduled cruise, basically had to beg the manager to let me reschedule it – she was extremely reluctant but finally she agreed and I was allowed to rebook for two weeks time. Unfortunately the worst happened and a few weeks later I was still seriously unwell with respiratory issues, so it became apparent I wouldn’t be able to go ahead with the rescheduled cruise.

When I contacted them with 3 days notice to explain the issue, I asked if there was any chance we could reschedule (literally for any time/date even if it was a year later!) and offered to pay a substantial rebooking fee, I was refused every option. The communications felt so heartless and there was just no acknowledgement of the fact i ended up losing a substantial amount of money.

As if it wasn’t bad enough that I wasn’t able to have a hen do and had the stress of being very ill a month before my wedding, I lost the full amount of money I’d paid for the boat trip!

So just try not to have any health crises before your trip and everything should be fine!

We hired the boat on 15/09 for a friend’s surprise and just had the best time ever! Firstly they were very quick to respond to any prior telephone queries and booking & payment was easy and straightforward. Joan, the boat was manned by Jasmine & Rory who were a brilliantly friendly and accommodating crew. The boat is spacious, clean, well set out and in pretty good order, with gorgeous decorations, which meant that we didn’t have to add much to make it look birthday-ready & gorgeous. We were able to bring all our own food & drink and just had to plug our phones in to play our music through the boat’s sound system, it was perfect! I have tried a couple of different canal boat hire companies before and can definitely say Hidden Cruises were the best, we’ll definitely be booking again they were brilliant.

I booked a boat for a 30th birthday party and loved every second. The team couldn’t have been more accommodating, the boat was beautifully decorated and one guest commented it was one of the best parties she’d ever been to! Thank you Hidden Depths, I couldn’t have asked for a better time.

Had a great 30th birthday party on the private hire boat Freda! Everyone had a lovely time. It was a BYOB food and drink situation. We were able to play our own music. Such an amazing day.

Great experience for a hen party. Hired a private boat. Easy booking process, Barbara was very responsive to all queries. The trip was loads of fun. The crew were very efficient, helpful and friendly, but also gave us space to do our own thing. There is a table area to set up food/drinks you can bring along, music speakers with cable, cool box, toilet available on board. Highly recommended experience.
