The castle grounds cover six acres inside the walls. There are two original towers and a 14th-century addition, the Cobb Hall. Built on separate mounds on the south side are the Observatory tower and the Old Keep. The latter is a ruined shell now, but the former is in good order, and the views from the top make the climb worthwhile. Cobb Hall was a lower tower, with battlements used as the prison and place of execution.

Had a great time at the castle, saw the prisons and the original Magna Carta. Lovely walk around the top of the walls. Shame the lift was out of order, you have to be fit to climb the spiral staircase. Well worth a visit.

Visited with my 9yr daughter. We had a fantastic day and made lots of memories. We took part in the guided tour which is included in the price. Our guide was so welcoming to all involved and was full of fascinating facts and information about the castle and it’s history. We also walked the castle walls taking in the views of Lincoln and beyond. My daughter loved exploring the prison section and we both enjoyed the interactive activities. We had a bit of a rest in the lovely enclosed garden area whilst enjoying some snacks from the cafe. Finally we viewed the Magne Carta which was incredible to see something over 800 years old close up and in such great condition. I would definitely recommend Lincoln Castle and we will be returning in the future.

I recommend you do the audio guide wall walk while at the Castle. Stunning views of the city and interesting facts. The victorian prison was also well worth the visit.

Wonderful as always! The castle itself has plenty to show and explore, including a full castle wall walk. They also had a special Victorian event on for may bank holiday which was epic to say the least.
I have been to this castle about 7 times now and it never gets boring and never disappoints.
