Guide To Museum of the Broads

Lots of interesting and educational, well presented displays both inside and outside by the river.

The Museum doesn’t seem as well known as museums in Norwich and King’s Lynn, but has at least as much, if not more to see and learn (even for those who know the Broads well).

I had not been for a couple of years and there were several new displays. The ticket gives you entry all season, so I can take my time to enjoy what’s there over several visits.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

They run boat trips, with an accessible boat. It’s on my to do list!

Absolutely idyllic boat trip in a 5hp steam powered 120+yr old beautifully restored boat. Book ahead as only runs 3 times a day with up to 10/11 passengers max. Fantastic team working the boats and museum and certainly a great few hours to relax with. Highly recommend a visit. It is worth every penny!

Had lovely river trip here, staff lovely, the last river trip of the afternoon left 5 minutes before we arrived and the staff called the boat back so we could join it. Very informative and relaxed. Will go back to see the museum in full.

An enjoyable couple of hours here. 45 minutes on boat with narrative from skipper. Even saw a kingfisher. Followed by leisurely stroll around museum with coffee & cake. Even the dogs enjoyed it.

We went on the boat in a Sunday and we were the only 3 on there. It was very informative. We saw nesting swans. Went up and down the broads. Came across a windmill with an air BnB large barn next to it. Beautiful afternoon and very peaceful.
