Canal Pub on the Worcester & Birmingham Canal

Guide To Navigation Inn

The Navigation Inn is situated along the beautiful Worcester and Birmingham Canal in Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove.

Following an impressive £130,000 refurbishment, it perfectly merges traditional canal-side charm with modern comfort. This beloved establishment features completely redesigned bar and dining areas, as well as a spacious outdoor space with multiple seating options, including a patio, decking area, and covered booths for year-round enjoyment.

Renowned for its excellent British cuisine, especially its generous Sunday roasts and homemade pies. The Navigation Inn offers a unique “secret garden” atmosphere, enhanced by festoon lighting and hanging baskets. Additionally, a converted outbuilding now serves as a garden room with its outdoor bar. Under the experienced management of Geoff Lee, Iain Harling, and Craig Knight, this dog-friendly pub has become a vital community hub, providing locals and canal travellers with a warm welcome, friendly service, and a perfect blend of traditional pub ambience with contemporary amenities.

Fabulous Sunday Roast today at the Navigation Inn. Home cooked Roast Turkey and Roast Beef with all the trimmings (cauliflower cheese, pigs in blanket, stuffing and crackling. Lots of extra steamed veg, perfectly cooked roasted potatoes and roasted vegetables. Really tasty food and service really friendly and efficient.

Great pub – the fish and chips was delicious, lovely beer batter. Also was able to swap the peas for beans yay! Sat outside in the spacious beer garden, nice seating and just a lovely pub in the sun! Plenty on the menu and helpful, kind staff. Highly recommend!

The Navigation Inn as you might guess is an (almost) canal side inn. It seems to be a family run establishment with links to local and distant businesses whose goods or supplies travelled along the canal. There is a large car park and wheelchair access through the entrance beside the beer garden.

The menu is very good and varied easily and carefully able to cater for food allergies. The pub is well known locally for its battered cod and chips, with a great offer on a Friday! The gluten free option is especially well cooked to order without the batter and tastes superb.

Well worth a visit any day, and if you live within reasonable travel you will be sure to return. Easily worth its Five Star rating.

The food was so appetising and definitely aesthetically pleasing. There was lots of artistic pieces to look at, with a stunning layout on the table. The staff was lovely, very interactive with customers. She did a splendid job doing it all by herself. I definitely would recommend stopping by.

Friendly polite staff. Toilets were spotless. Great range of vegetarian and vegan drinks (alcohol and none alcohol) Table service. We had vegan shepherd’s pie which was beautiful. Chef came out to speak to us. Very friendly and jolly. He was heard singing in the kitchen and he actually hasa really good voice. Thank you for brilliant evening.
