Guide To Thames Clippers

Lovely experience. Got to see London from the river during day and at night.

Be careful and buy your tickets at the ticket office.

We used our debit (EC) cards for the Uber Boat / TfL system and were incorrectly charged. Unfortunately, it was not possible to register these cards online to check the journeys or request a refund.

Customer service was not helpful in resolving the issue, and despite contacting TfL multiple times, we were unable to get our money back.

Overall, a frustrating and expensive experience. I would strongly recommend buying tickets directly instead of using contactless debit cards.

if you take it at about 6 pm you get the best views, all the city lights including the tower bridge are so beautiful, for the price you pay it’s really good, would recommend

This is a great way to view the city from the Thames. We got the day pass and had no issues. The employees were very friendly and were good at getting us in the right places so when the boat pulled up, people hopped off and we hopped on quickly. We took the boat to Greenwich to see the maritime museum and the Royal Observatory. Got to see the Shard on the way. And then took it back to the London Tower and the London Bridge. Finally back to Westminster Abbey where we got off to enjoy some food at aa pub. We walked home from there. One thing to note is they only travel east bound from the Eye.

CONS:

I asked the guy in the ticket booth at the London Eye Pier if the next boat was stopping at Royal Wharf. “Yes” he said.

The next boat did NOT stop at Royal Wharf and terminated at North Greenwich on the wrong side of the river from where I needed to get to.

I get the feeling that if I’d asked them if the next boat was going to the Moon, they’d still have said “Yes”.

Basically don’t trust anything the ticket booth or pier staff tell you, I suspect their training doesn’t extend much beyond “that’s a boat, that’s the river, you start Monday”.

PROS:

Despite my trip terminating at the wrong stop and on the wrong side of the river, I’d still recommend the Uber Boat by Thames Clippers service to everyone.

On a beautiful, sunny spring day there can’t be a better way to travel around London, getting unique views of some of London’s most well-known landmarks all in a luxury World’s away from the Tube, whilst not costing much more.
