Inside, visitors are greeted by a warm atmosphere where quality cask ales are served alongside delicious home-cooked meals, earning the pub a top spot among Sowerby Bridge’s establishments. The Navigation Inn is accessible by narrowboat, with nearby moorings, or by foot along the towpath from the Sowerby Bridge basin. This historic establishment reflects the region’s rich canal heritage while balancing its 600-year history with modern comforts.
It features ample parking and outdoor seating areas that enjoy sunshine throughout the day, making it a cherished destination for both locals and travellers exploring West Yorkshire’s waterways.

The Navigation on the Rush bearing festival is absolutely packed. Staff work fast and friendly and courteously despite huge pressures and a multitude of thirsty customers.
The pub itself has a quite traditional interior and is tucked away down a small road off the beaten track. But it’s worth making a detour.
Even better is making the short walk along the canal from the canal basin.
A great weekend was spent on the Yorkshire Dragon next to the Towpath as we enjoyed the Rushbearing festival
Lovely friendly staff, tasty food at a very reasonable price!
Sunday lunch wasn’t unpleasant and the Yorkshire pudding was so good but 1 carrot ,1 piece of parsnip,1 roast potato and literally 1/2 a tablespoon off mash just doesn’t justify the price ,Also £4 extra for a small ramekin of cauliflower cheese and £4 for 3 pigs in blankets seem a lot when usually it comes with the meal . overall disappointed.
