Following its acquisition by Castleford Heritage Trust in 2013, the mill has been transformed into a vibrant community hub. In addition to the coffee operation, the complex includes a café, a craft beer shop, and a tourism information point.
Visitors can enjoy the unique atmosphere where traditional stone-ground flour production meets modern coffee roasting techniques. The coffee grinding activities pay tribute to the building’s 300-year milling history, which dates back to references of flour mills in Castleford as early as 1122.
This venture adds a contemporary dimension to the landmark building, which continues to evolve while honouring its industrial past through the careful preservation of its heritage features and sustainable practices.
