It was my husband’s 40th recently and my parents wanted to gift him something a bit different and thought a day on a canal boat would be nice and we were not disappointed! It was our first time doing anything like this but they made sure we were confident using the boat, turning etc and gave us tips on the best places to go. We took our own lunch on board but happily used the kettle and, overall, had a fantastic day! Everyone, from my 67 year old dad to my 4 year son had an amazing time. Would definitely recommend and plan to go again in the future

We hired a boat for the day and couldn’t have been more pleased with how good the boat was and the day we had. The boat has all you could need with a kettle, gas rings, fridge, fully stocked cutlery drawer, washing up supplies and kitchen and toilet roll. We had the boat for a good amount of time (9-4) which gave us plenty of time to go quite far down the canal. We stopped at Lymm and got off to get some food. We turned just after Lymm to come back and were able to go a little the other way before turning to come back. Everyone had a go at steering the boat which was easy enough. The price for a full day’s experience for a family of six is good value for money. I definitely recommend Thorne Marine for this experience.

A 5 star review cannot express how fantastic the quality and service you get from booking with Thorne Marine has been. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to book a canal boat trip or short break to get away from the daily routine to definitely make a booking with them. Suzie and Nigel have been fantastic from the start A1 service I will be booking with them again very soon.

We had a week on Home James on a very relaxing trip to Middlewich and back. The handover was excellent and prepared both myself and my wife for an enjoyable holiday. The boat was well equipped and provides a lovely comfortable space in which to relax. We enjoyed splendid views and lovely chilled nights, totally unwinding.
