The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, often called the Mon & Brec Canal, is a scenic waterway that runs through the countryside of South Wales. Built in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the canal was originally used to transport coal, iron, and limestone from the industrial valleys to towns and ports. It stretches for about 35 miles (56 km) between Brecon and Cwmbran, passing through the beautiful landscapes of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
