Beautiful boat finished to a high standard. Angus obviously takes a lot of pride in it. Easy to manoevre and everything on it…except a TV. We took our own to stream our programmes on.

We had a wonderful Canal boat journey on Larkspur starting from Bathampton to Devizes and back again. The boat is a wide beam, very spacious and perfect layout with superb kitchen living area, 2 bedrooms and the addition of a sofa bed in the living area. Angus was very helpful throughout from helping us load our luggage on board, giving us initial training to the point of us being happy to go it alone. Angus was also on call throughout the journey for assistance at any time. He provides a very good service with a polite and friendly manner. The log burner on board was very comforting and Angus provided plenty of wood for the holiday. A very enjoyable holiday with good backup service and would highly recommend Bloomsbury Boats.

Just returned from the most wonderful week on board Larkspur.

First time on a canal boat for us 4 and Angus was most helpful and welcoming in showing us how it all worked. He was also quick to reply with a couple of queries we had during the trip. Larkspur is really spacious and comfortable. It’s well equipped with everything needed and has quality soft furnishings.whilst on our travels we saw some amazing wildlife. Lots of dragonflies, and a large group of Sandmartins where we moored overnight. We were also lucky enough to see a kingfisher fly past twice. We had lots of close ups with Herons, and saw a moorhen catch a fish to feed her baby chicks. Loved watching a family of swans eating ripe blackberries that were trailing down into the canal. A great week I can thoroughly recommend Bloomsbury.

Just back from a fabulous week on Larkspur. She’s such a beautiful boat! Such spaciousness! A lovely layout, 2 berths and a sofa bed. The kitchen had everything I needed, we tend to be the self catering types rather than pub dinners… Sunday roast, cooked evening meals from scratch, the only thing I brought with me that I would have missed was my extra large frying pan because, bacon sandwiches!

The double bed at the front was so comfy and perfect for a quiet sit watching the world go by as the captain piloted along the canal. The bathroom is gorgeous, so much space compared to a narrow boat, when two of the crew are 6’4” space matters!

Angus was the perfect host, comms were excellent, he made us feel we could trouble him with anything.

We found the K&A rather busy from Bathampton to Bradford on Avon, it’s not overly wide and very populated with liveaboard wide beams, then onward from Hilperton the swing bridges are constant hard work, still lots of residential boats, expect to be on tickover for most of the trip. This does mean you get to enjoy the scenery and live life at a slower pace, which personally I enjoyed. The Caen Flight was our raison d’être, we set off on Saturday, hit the flight on Monday, stopped by Devizes Marina, then chugged back to the Wharf for a rest day, down the flight Wednesday and back to Bathampton for Friday. It was a hard, satisfying, comfortable, team building, family week which I just adored!
