The place of my first longer bicycle tour. Amazing place all the way along the Lanchaster canal

Always looks busy with boats, paths and grass borders well maintained. Pass through here a lot on longer canal walks. Close to a pub, the Plough at Gallate.

Poorly maintained and poorly staffed.

The Jetty’s are falling apart and slippery, with several people having fallen in the canal within the last 12 months.

Toilets are not fit for purpose with lights not working and locks not working.

The showers are poorly maintained and always out of order or won’t get hot.

Staff attitude is poor to say the least.

When i contacted the Company about one issue in particular, They were not interested and told me they would call me back.

They never did.

I love the place because my propeller drive shaft failed right next to last set of mooring rings before bridge and on my maiden voyage!
