I wanted to offer a word of advice just in case somebody else makes the same as I did.
I was with my teenage son, visiting the area for the day from Northern Ireland. Wanting to see the Dean’s Tree we drove down the lane not realising the marina was there. There is a welcome sign and we saw the ice cream sign, drove down the first lane on the right to park, admiring the beautiful barges and canal.
Any pleasant thoughts quickly disappeared when a boat owner started shouting at us asking if we owned a boat here and we were not to take photographs as it was private property.
Okay, we missed the tiny sign at the top of the lane saying private access. Had I known it was private, I would not have walked around taking photos of some of the boats and the canal.
However, my point is, there was no reason for this person to be so rude and disrespectful and not even have the decency to get up, walk over and have a proper adult conversation. The attitude was disgusting. It really spoiled our day.
So, two suggestions. Perhaps consider slightly larger more obvious signs. Consider the tenants having to attend a course in good manners & respect for others before allowing them to use the marina.
Beautiful location though.

One of the friendliest and most accommodating marinas we have been to.
Staff are friendly and very eager to help. Joe, Mark and Andrew are so kind and helpful. And manager Sue runs a tight ship to a high and customer-friendly standard.
The services are easily available at the canalside, no need to enter and manoeuvre – marinas can get windy.
Equipment is modern and engineering services are also available, it’s a hire boat base.
They are also open on weekends.
Highly recommended.

We hired a canal boat from ABC boat hire and spent a wonderful week boating . Great experience and highly recommended. Their boats are well maintained and well equipped.

Customer service as a Victron Dealership can best be described as ‘awkward’ and difficult to deal with.
