Guide To Gayton Marina

Cute little marina, great to visit.

We had been experiencing severe problems with our electric narrow boat and after a phone call to Gayton, we couldn’t be more delighted than with the help that the staff at Gayton were able to give us! Shout out to Paul & Lynn who were exceptionally helpful.

We hired a narrow boat for a week the reception was friendly yet professional, the engineer guided us through the H&S and workings of the boat very efficiently and the household staff had made the interior impeccably clean and tidy. We will definitely be back.

Cold water tap to near the floor, nice long hose for washing toilet cassette , a dog poo bin would be good . A long way to refuse bins and toilets and shower. Thought it a little expensive compared to other sites we have been to.

We purchased a day trip offer on a barge to take up the river from ABC Boat hire via groupon which served as an excellent introduction to canal boating for us. We arrived early and were greeted by the friendly ABC team, they took us through possible routes, safety video and paid our deposit. We were taken to the barge (which was suitable for six) and walked through the controls and shown how to use the kitchen facilities and heating! We had a picnic with us, but you can stop at pubs along the route. We had a wonderful day on the barge, it was clean, functional and great fun, something we will do again. The team were also very nice and ensured we had a great experience !
