One of our favourite marinas on the network. The staff are brilliant — friendly, helpful, and really know their stuff. We only meant to stay a couple of nights to charge up and do some laundry but ended up staying three weeks. There’s a great Chinese and a burger place on site, plus a hotel and pub. Lovely walks nearby too, like Woughton Green and Campbell Park a bit further out.
We’ll really miss the resident kingfisher who used to perch on the boat next to us each morning and peek in — a proper little character. The train station’s just a short, cheap Uber or cycle away. The marina isn’t new, but it’s very well looked after, with clean pontoons, good facilities, and easy access to everything Milton Keynes has to offer. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Stopped in for a pumpout, and the fellow working the facilities(Michael) was top notch and total customer service professional.
That said, it’s a poorly designed layout for boats requiring services only, and the prices for moorings I was quoted were astronomical for what limited amenities were on display.
Quoted October 2025: £496 per month on either a quarterly or 6 month basis.

Hired a boat for the day for a large family group. We were given full instructions before we headed off. You need to bring all your own equipment for food and drinks, except a kettle. There is a fridge and gas hob on board. Plus a loo. Plenty of seating for 8 and the family dog. We had a fab time, stopped at pub just before the lock at the northern reach of the boat. Saw parts of MK we didn’t know existed. Will be booking again.

MK Afloat
We had a great experience with MK Afloat. The guy who greeted us was super friendly and nice, and he took the time to walk us through everything we needed to know about operating the boat, even though the link provided when booking was already helpful and detailed.
He went through the safety essentials, explained how things work on the water, and took the boat out of the marina for us. It was also reassuring to know that we could call him if we had any issues.
We hired Meadowlark, which was spotless – clean and clearly recently refurbished. It had everything we needed for a comfortable day.
The docs they send out with the booking confirmation was great – it included everything we needed to know ahead of time, including what’s on the boat and what to bring (cutlery, etc.).
We had a brilliant time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend MK Afloat to anyone looking for a relaxing, well-organised boating adventure.

We were the first booking of the season and were provided with a friendly welcome and helpful introduction to the boat (although it was good to make use of the link to a video that they provided).
Relieved that they emphasised the need to get car number plates on the system quickly to avoid any problems.
The company had invested in the boat which had been given a good spruce up over the winter and this, combined with the perfect weather and helpful service, led to a great day out to celebrate a birthday.
Our group was 7 adults and 2 children and it was a snug but good fit.
We recommend going south as well as north (The Plough was a good choice for lunch).
Although slightly daunting the smaller size of the boat made it realistic for first timers like us – could turn around without needing a specific turning space.
On return Andy’s colleague was on hand to help us off, happy to take our photo and provided a cheerful goodbye.
So all in all a very good experience providing happy memories for us all. Thank you Andy and team
