Guide To Nelson’s Wharf

Excellent accommodation whether you want a nice quiet holiday in the country or, as I did for the last few months, needed accommodation for work.

The pods are spotless and so well maintained they are as new. Compact kitchenette that fully served my purposes. Very comfortable bed and good bathroom with shower. Lovely summer evenings sat at the outdoor table eating, drinking and enjoying the fresh air.

The room temperature can be easily adjusted to your preference with very fast heating in these colder days and the simple expedient of leaving the double doors open in the summer to enjoy the cool fresh air.

Great location, so quiet and peaceful it’s like therapy.

Wonderful hosts who are welcoming and attentive whilst leaving you to enjoy the beautiful countryside location.

There’s plenty of takeaways nearby and a pub ten minutes walk from the pods that I’m told by a colleague has excellent food and great atmosphere.

I’m conflicted writing this review as I want to be the only person enjoying these wonderful amenities.

We spent a weekend at Podtastic at Nelsons Wharf and really enjoyed our stay. The location is lovely and has a relaxed feel to it, with plenty of open space to enjoy. My Kid especially loved the playground and the freedom to run about and play games in the wide open areas. The pod itself was cosy and comfortable, and the owners were very welcoming, which made the experience feel even more personal. A great spot for a family break.

We had four nights at Podtastic last week, and it was fantastic. Izzie, Steve and Tom made us feel very welcome (and gave us some suggestions for very good local food).

It was our first experience of staying in a pod. It was clean, modern and very well equipped – exactly as described on the website. For two adults, it was very spacious. If you added two children it would be more snug, but to youngsters, I’m sure that would just be an adventure.

The pods are next to, but safely fenced off from the Grand Union Canal, and boats gently pass by from time to time. Fishing is available at the wharf, and there is some play equipment near the pods for children.

There are plenty of footpaths for exploring and the nearest village is only a few minutes walk away, with a small shop, pub with good food and an excellent Chinese take away.

The small town of ~Southam is about 5 minutes drive away and has a Tesco and petrol.

There are a large number of attractions within easy driving distance and the site itself is easily accessible from the M1, which is about 25 minutes drive away.

We packed a lot into our time at Nelson’s Wharf, but there is plenty more for us to see and when we return to the area, Podtastic will be my first choice for accommodation.

My son and I have stayed at Podtastic 3 times so far and plan to stay there again. The Pods are immaculate and so cosy. The location is lovely and peaceful. I would highly recommend a stay at Podtastic to anyone who wants a bit of luxury whilst relaxing in a really chilled setting. Thank you Podtastic 😊
