True to its welcoming philosophy, The Navigation Inn proudly accommodates four-legged companions, setting itself apart from the “stuffy country pubs” that often prohibit dogs and muddy boots. Visited recently for my mother in law birthday. Really great setting, service and food. Owners really attentive and nothing was too much. Will visit again quite happily. Menu well priced and really good food. Nice to visit somewhere where the music wasn’t blaring out and was a more relaxed atmosphere.. great for classical music appreciation but not if you like the thump thump of club music.

This pub is truly a hidden gem, and the owners are so welcoming. We stayed as a family of six for the weekend over the road. Even though we only called in for drinks and had Sunday diner the owner went out of his way to stock up with our daughter’s preferred drink. The Sunday lunch was delicious. If you are in the village or passing by on the canal make sure you call in!! Thanks for looking after us so well x

Found this by accident, a wonderful old style canalside pub, unspoilt decor inside with a log fire, with a good range of local ales and an excellent dinner menu. Had the local Monty ale and a beautifully cooked Welsh sirloin steak. Wife had the roast turkey dinner, a huge portion of fresh vegetables to go with the thick slices of turkey breast. Franklin the owner was a great host, even down to his choices of vintage music on the sound system. Highly recommended!

A must-visit for coeliacs!
Fantastic pub with delicious gluten-free fish and chips, with perfectly dry, crispy batter and full of flavour. Around 90% of the menu is gluten free, created by Brett, the friendly and talented chef. The staff are lovely, the dog-friendly pub has a warm and homely feel by the Montgomery Canal, and there is even a great selection of board games.
I highly recommend this gem to all coeliacs and gluten-free diners! 🍽️🐾🍻

Beautiful old pub by the canal side. We stopped in for Friday dinner after mooring up within a very short walking distance.
Hosts were friendly and welcoming and the pub has its own charm. Good range of ale on the bar. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, battered chicken/courgettes to start, scampi, chicken pie and duck breast for mains.
Everything was cooked perfectly, in good time and really felt like proper home cooking. The chips in particular were the best I’ve had in a long, long time. I wish we lived closer!
