Canal Pub on the Trent and Mersey Canal

Guide To Bubble Inn

The Bubble Inn, located alongside the Trent and Mersey Canal on Derby Road in Stenson, is a charming establishment that has been converted from a 19th-century farm building. This unique venue offers views of Stenson Marina and features a striking main bar area with high, exposed wooden ceilings and distinctive mezzanine seating above the bar.

Owned by former boxer Connie Eleftheriou, who gained fame after winning an episode of the reality TV show “Four In A Bed,” the inn showcases boxing memorabilia throughout its wonderfully eclectic interior. The Bubble Inn serves as a multifaceted establishment, providing a vibrant pub atmosphere along with hotel accommodations and restaurant services, all while retaining its distinct pub-like character.

With extensive outdoor seating that includes both paved and grassy areas, the venue attracts a diverse clientele of all ages, creating a lively atmosphere, especially on weekends. Its canalside location makes it particularly popular with boaters navigating the waterways, solidifying its status as a unique destination in this part of Derbyshire.

Absolutely lovely pub, staff although mostly young are very attentive and very professional !! Great range of drinks at a reasonable price for such a lovely pub.

Food was incredible we had starters only one day and the most carefully prepared and presented roast on Sunday .

Thankyou to all staff for a wonderful experience especially the young guy who gave us a fist bump 👊🏻 he made us smile the most 😘

Great choice of varied seating indoors or outdoors. We chose outdoors due to the weather. We were greeted by friendly, welcoming staff. The menu had a good choice of starter’s and mains. The food was well presented and very good. It’s definitely worth a visit

Just a short walk from the canal, over the bridge and only a couple of minutes away, you’ll find The Bubble Inn. It’s a beautifully presented building with plenty of charm and character. The staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The food was absolutely delicious—freshly prepared and full of flavour.

Whether you’re passing through or looking for a cosy spot to relax, I would definitely recommend a visit to The Bubble Inn. It’s well worth the short detour from the towpath!

Visited Sunday lunchtime. Beautiful day and was really looking forward to some good food as we had been here many times before. Had halloumi for starter . The halloumi was very nice but only got two very thin slices and no pitta bread for the humous 🤷🏻‍♀️ at a cost of £8 . For mains chicken souvlaki , what a joke . It looked like a child’s portion . Pitta bread and chips nice . Salad didn’t look fresh and the chicken kebabs were so small 😱

Didn’t taste like they’d been cooked on a bar b q …. I was absolutely disgusted . This main cost £20 . No one came to the table to see how the food was . We left pretty soon after finishing . We definitely will not be returning . Feel very disappointed 😢

It’s not what we expected with it being Greek. The feel wasn’t there of it being Greek. it was just like being in any other restaurant. The service was quick, although we had a server that didn’t know what beers on draft they were or anything about drinks they serve at all. we had what we were given, basically. They didn’t have any drinks menus on the table, just a wine menu, not a great selection on the food menu we wouldn’t be revisiting there again
