Canal Pub on the Trent and Mersey Canal

Guide To The Crown Inn

The Crown Inn, located at 7 Post Office Road in Alrewas, is a historic establishment with a rich heritage, parts of which date back approximately 500 years.

This makes it one of the village’s oldest landmarks. Originally a coaching inn, it served as the village post office during the era of mail coaches in the late 19th century. In 2014, the inn underwent a significant renovation that combined its public bar and lounge into a single L-shaped room, while maintaining its characteristic low-beamed ceilings and traditional quarry tiled floors in the snug and public bar areas.
