Guide To Stowe Hill Workshop

I used Stowe Hill for blacking and everything went smoothly – the team was very helpful (especially the guys at Rugby Boat Sales who helped me make the appointment). Unfortunately things did not go well with my engine. I had a list of things I asked the mechanic at Stow hill to look at on the engine. He managed to get a few things done but said there was a blown head gasket which he did’t have time to do then, understandably. I made an appointment to bring it back 2 weeks later. Brought it in Oct 2nd as agreed, but by Oct 14th, I was still waiting for a call back that they’d even had time to look at it. Then he called and said everything had been done that day. I asked about the head gasket and he said he thinks it’s fine afterall, but he sounded like he just didn’t want to bother with it. Now a few weeks later my engine has overheated really badly and I can’t even drive the boat. I’ve left three messages at Stow Hill and haven’t heard back over a week later. I’m so dissappointed that such nice people would be so irresponsible with my engine and assure me it’s fine to be driving it in that condition, and then just ignore my calls. I will update this review if anything changes.

Rob and Matt made and fitted a folding solid timber table into our boat. Excellent job at a good price.Rob is a straight shooter and won’t mess you around.
