A hidden gem.
If you are in, or near, Upton upon Severn take a short walk over the bridge to the marina. Great place to sit, relax and watch the boats.

Lovely place to visit or stay if arriving by boat. Wheelhouse restaurant and bar is also worth visiting too.

When visiting my birth town of Upton Upon Severn from Australia every two years I always look forward to taking a walk around the Marina, my most recent visit on 07/08/25. Some changes since my last visit with the area for boat homes & some still on the market to sell. The Wheelhouse Café a good place to order drinks & meals at reasonable prices. Free parking next to the Café & only a 10-15 min walk into town.

Large, clean, well-organized marina with all the services needed, just a short walk across the bridge from the lovely little town of Upton upon Severn, where there are lots of cafes, a couple of corner shops, a grocery store, lots of pubs and restaurants, antique shops, a map store, and lots of history. They have a pub, cafe, chandlery, boat mechanics, private showers and toilets, water, and electric as well as public toilets, elsan, pump-out, diesel, small boat rentals, rubbish and recycling, and used oil recycling. It’s up a long ramp from the visitor moorings to the elsan and toilets, so keep that in mind if you have any mobility issues. We were having a minor problem with the engine and stopped to sort that out. Mitch in the Advanced Marine shop on the premises was very helpful and patient, and plainly in high demand. We ended up staying over a week and very much enjoyed our time there. The river entrance is a bit hidden, so go slow and watch for the small bridge that crosses it if you go by boat!
