Once 150 years ago and until 20 years ago this was a thriving boat yard, filled with yachts and river boats.

A major repair yard busy and kept,

but modern times, over populated areas and the need to build on every bit of land, this wonderful place is now under threat of being built upon and a flash, experience marina to replace the original moorings.

Ideal for boats as they usually float, not so good for houses which don’t, and the yard floods rather badly!

We say farewell to a piece of boating history on the River Weaver. 😩

My grandad had a boat on here for years built it up to be his home sailed from bangor

and settled until his death in 2017 – the owner Jeremy was horrible and not long after my grandad died after saying “always here for you” he demanded money and then my grandads boat started to sink because of the problems by this time it was too late and Jeremy smashed my grandads life and memories into pieces- I will never forgive you or what you do to your “people/friends”

Long live the border star 🌟

I enjoyed my time mooring there and was treated Fairy buy Jeremy (the owner) we did some business together too. Rob is a great help and treats you as you treat him.

It’s a shame it is all going to change, but it’s called progress.

Absolute dive. If you spend a lot of money on a boat I would honestly think again about putting your pride and joy in this place as it looks like a scrap yard for boats,
